Synology has unveiled two new DiskStation models, the DS1825+ and DS1525+, offering compact, high-performance storage solutions tailored for small and medium businesses as well as professional users.

Outstanding Performance and Scalability
To meet the demands of resource-intensive applications, the DS1525+ and DS1825+ are equipped with dual 2.5GbE ports. The DS1525+ can be seamlessly upgraded to 10GbE using the E10G22-T1-Mini module, while the DS1825+ includes a PCIe 3.0 slot, compatible with 10GBASE-T or 10/25GbE SFP+/SFP28 network cards. Both models feature two M.2 slots, enabling users to configure an all-flash cache or storage pool for high-performance tasks. In performance evaluations, the DS1825+ achieved SMB sequential throughput of up to 2,239 MB/s read and 1,573 MB/s write using SSDs, while the DS1525+ reached up to 1,181 MB/s read and 1,180 MB/s write.
Both models are designed to scale efficiently, supporting capacity expansion with up to two 5-bay DX525 expansion units. This ensures that businesses can expand storage as their data requirements increase, offering a sustainable, long-term storage solution. The DS1525+ supports up to 300 TB of raw storage, and the DS1825+ supports up to 360 TB of raw storage when fully expanded with 18 and 15 drives, respectively.
The DS1525+ and DS1825+ are designed as comprehensive systems to deliver reliable and consistent performance with compatible hard drives. The systems follow a carefully designed drive compatibility framework, validated through over 7,000 hours of rigorous testing. To maintain seamless integration and long-term reliability, DSM on these models requires compatible hard drives for installation.

Powered by Synology’s DiskStation Manager (DSM), these systems offer a wide array of features tailored to meet diverse business data management needs:

- Active Backup Suite: Provides complete data protection for Windows, Linux, and MacOS devices, virtual machines, and cloud accounts, with flexible off-site backup capabilities.

Availability

Note: Raw capacity is calculated using 20 TB drives. Actual usable storage may vary based on the drives used and RAID configuration. The DS1825+ and DS1525+ support up to 18 and 15 drives, respectively, when combined with two Synology DX525 Expansion Units (sold separately).
A third-party validation program is available upon request, allowing drive manufacturers to certify their products according to the same stringent standards applied to Synology drives.
